Getting started

What it does, what it needs from you, and how the first week runs.

What does RepairRing do?

It answers your garage phone when you cannot, in your garage’s name. It takes the booking, reads the registration back until the caller agrees it, and only books a slot once they have said yes. See how a call runs, hear one, the guide to choosing an AI receptionist or how setting up works.

How do I get started?

Put your garage on the list at Stop missing calls. It takes under a minute, costs nothing and never asks for a card. Somebody rings you at the time you pick and sets it up with you on the phone.

Do I have to change my phone number?

No. Customers keep ringing the number they already have. Your phone provider does the diverting, and you are talked through it on the phone, so nothing needs working out on your own.

Can I hear it before I decide?

Yes. Hear it answer has three calls a garage gets every week, with the full transcript alongside each one. Nothing needs a conversation first.

How a call runs, end to end

Your calls

Which calls it picks up, what callers hear, and when it hands over to you.

Which calls does it answer?

By default, the ones you do not pick up. You answer when you can and it covers the rest, so a customer never reaches a ringing phone that nobody answers.

Does the caller know it is an assistant?

Yes. It says so at the start of the call. Callers are told what they are talking to and are never left guessing.

What if the caller wants a person?

It takes their name, their number and the reason they rang, and you get that straight away. Nobody is left on hold waiting for somebody who is under a car.

Will it tell a customer their MOT is due?

It asks the caller rather than telling them. It does not state a detail about a vehicle it cannot know, so what goes in your diary is what the caller actually said.

Where can I read what was said on a call?

In your account, under Calls. Every call has its summary and full transcript, and any call-back you owe somebody sits at the top until you have rung them. Sign in to see them.

What it does on every call

Bookings and your diary

How a booking reaches you, and how to set the hours and prices it works from.

How do bookings reach me?

The moment the call ends. Each one lands in your account under Bookings and goes to the email address you chose, with the customer’s name, number, registration and what they need doing.

Can I change my opening hours?

Yes. Your opening hours set the days and times it may offer, and you can also set how long an appointment takes, how many jobs it may book at once, how much notice you need and which days you are shut. It never offers a slot outside them.

Which prices does it quote?

Only the ones you have entered under Services and prices. Leave a price blank and it tells the caller that the garage will confirm it, which is the honest answer for panel work or a diagnostic.

Can I change what it says when it picks up?

Yes. Your greeting is yours to word, and there is a preview underneath so you can read exactly what a caller will hear before you save it.

Can I mark a booking as done, or cancelled?

Yes. Each booking in your account carries a status you can move as the job goes through the workshop, so the list always shows what is still to do.

What a booking looks like

Your account

Signing in with no password, and what to do when a link does not work.

How do I sign in?

Go to the sign-in page, type the email address you gave us and press the button. A link arrives in your inbox. There is no password to remember, set or lose.

The link has stopped working. What now?

A link works once and lasts fifteen minutes. Ask for a fresh one on the sign-in page. If a second one does not arrive either, check the spam folder and then email us.

The sign-in page says it has sent a link and nothing turned up.

The link only goes to an address that has an account. Check you typed the one you gave when you joined, and look in the spam folder. If you are still stuck, email us and somebody will help.

Which phone number do I forward?

Your existing garage number. It does not change and you keep it. Your account has a page for it under Settings, and the person who sets you up goes through it with you.

Pricing and the guarantee

What you pay, when you pay it, and how to stop if it is not for you.

What does it cost?

The full price list is on the pricing page: two tiers, what each one includes, and a calculator that shows what it is worth to a garage like yours. Every figure there is what you pay. The price guide compares it with the alternatives.

Does joining the list cost anything?

No. Joining takes under a minute and never asks for a card.

When am I first invoiced?

The setup fee is invoiced only once your line is live and you have heard it answer your own phone. Nothing is invoiced before that.

What if it is not right for my garage?

You can stop within the guarantee period and have the setup fee refunded. The guarantee terms set out the length of it and exactly what is covered, and the pricing page explains it in plain words.

What happens if I go over my minutes?

The pricing page shows the rate for minutes beyond your allowance for each tier, so you can work out a busy month before it happens. See pricing.

Privacy and your data

What is kept, who sees it, and the choices you have on this site.

What happens to the details I give you?

They stay with us. We pass your details to nobody else and we do not sell them. The privacy notice sets out exactly what is kept and for how long, and you can ask us to delete it.

Are the recordings on the site real customers?

No. The calls on Hear it answer are written scenarios, played by a voice, so nobody’s real call is ever published. The terms say so too.

Does this site track me?

It counts visits without storing anything on your device, and it only loads analytics if you press Accept. You can change your mind at any time. The cookies page has the details.

Talking to a person

When you would rather ask than read.

How do I reach somebody?

Email hello@repairring.co.uk and it is read by somebody who can change the thing you are writing about. Replies come on working days, usually the same one. The contact page has the other ways.

Can I ask for a call instead?

Yes. Ask on Stop missing calls, pick morning, afternoon or any time, and somebody rings you then.

Is there a page for my kind of garage?

There is one for each kind of work, from independents and MOT stations to tyre fitters, and one for each area we cover. Start at For your work or Areas.

Every way to reach us
Still stuck?

Ask somebody who can change it.

Email hello@repairring.co.uk and it is read by a person, usually answered the same working day.
